Default Is this right?

When I unzip t bin it becomes

cw-lmc-update-1.0.1.16-r1(2).bin

Is that correct?

I've tried everything still says can't unpack the file. It's the same problem FTA Newb had. I can't un-pack it /install it.

I've tried to install from the USB stick and where I've place it via WinScp then tried to install there too. In every case it says can't unpack.

Sorry in advance. It's my first time... I appreciate the hand holding. LOL!

Is there some directory I could place it in by coming at it from another computer?

For those without a network connection this update will remove the long wait at startup also. to update your system you will need a usb stick.

1. You can download the update with your computer by going to CaptiveWorks FTP Site

Code:
ftp://ftp.captiveworks.org/cw3000hd and saving the file cw-lmc-update-1.0.1.16.bin to your computer.

2. Copy the cw-lmc-update-1.0.1.16.bin file to a usb stick.

3. Take the USB stick to the CW-LMC and insert it into one of the front USB ports. (There is a flip up door on the front of the unit covering the ports. Press on the triangle of dots to open the door.)

4. Enter the Admin profile from the main screen.

5. Enter the pin (1111 is the default)

6. Highlight updates and press enter.

7. Highlight Install and press enter.

8. Highlight external on the file screen and press enter.

9. Highlight the cw-lmc-update-1.0.1.16.bin file and press the blue button to install.

10. You will see 2 status bars and some messages displayed as the update is installed. Once the "Update Installed Successfully" message is displayed, press the blue button to exit

11. Back all the way out to the main screen and press the power button. Press the yellow button to restart the system.

12. Update complete.

Default tried and tried...

I've tried the fix files from here, there, and other boards / forums- and I keep getting the same can't unpack file...

Here are my specific issues...

I'm a Mac guy. I can run Windows XP professional from within and have had no problems with other software etc...

BUT!

The USB stick format does NOT recognize the thumb drive to be reformatted except if I sacrifice a chicken, kick it 3 times, and do the "hokey pokey". In other words I've gotten it to reformat in in windows once or twice but for the most part I can't. IS there a Mac USB Stick formating utility? Is Fat 16/ Fat 32 what we are talking about here?

Then what do I use on the windows side to unpack this .zip? I've got a trial version of WinZip. Good?

The CW-4000 HD sees the USB and the files and goes to install it and says can't unpack the file.

It's happend about 20 times now. Yes I've updated to the real .16 r 2 and everything else is going well.

Can you send me via PM the .bin after it's been unpacked? Or am I having problems because this would be the FIRST time I've ever tried to instal a key fix, ad it's trying to build on previous files that aren't there?

This is beyond frustrating I've been trying to see ANYTHING besides NASA since December.

HElp me Obi Wan FTA, you're my only hope....

Try this little tool and see if it works.

http://www.ftaprofessionals.tv/usefu...t-utility.html

PS. We can't unzip the file for you and post it here. I just tried and BIN file isn't supported by vBulletin forum.

Another thing you can try is download WinRar and try to unzip files using Winrar program. You can download the program here since you have access to POWER VIP section.
