Default rolls boot continuously

My CW 800 will not load up past boot. I have unplugged everything from the back and still no luck.

I shut it off using the back switch and when I turned it back on it has this problem.

I cannot even get it to take any bin or software downloads using the cable.

I am open to any suggestions on what to do.

Thanks

JL

Try loading factory file using USB stick, if you get passed that point you are in good shape. And from there the usual stuff latest file, settings and rescan.

CW 800 UNIT STUCK WITH DISPLAY SHOWING "BOOT" or Displaying "BOOT" and screen Goes Bl

CW 800 UNIT STUCK WITH DISPLAY SHOWING "BOOT" or Displaying "BOOT" and screen Goes Blank

Well Here is a HOW TO FIX from my personal experience today.

I Factory Defaulted then Re-Loaded the CW800 Factory File back to the unit.

As it started to Re-Boot it ended with the Display showing "BOOT" and there I was looking watching waiting for "BOOT" to go away ..

Well it didnt ..

I shut off the unit and powered it back on ..

Boot came on for 1 -2 seconds then display went blank ..

I took a breather and walked away .. went and got myself a beer and watched TV in my living room to clear my head. In this hobby its not good to do things while youre all flustered. Relax .. Go over the things you need to do and re check everything .. OK .. Beer Done .. Movie Watched..Feeling Better now Back to my CW 800 "BOOT" problem.

I opened the CW 800 Loader got my Null Cable and set the com port (for my Vista Desktop its Com Port 4) .. for your Computer it may be different you will have to try each one if necessary.

Now .. In order to get the BOOT to STAY on STEADY ..

You need to shut off the power switch on the back of the unit first.

Now with your Thumb of your left hand HOLD IN THE POWER BUTTON .. AT THE SAME TIME WITH YOUR OTHER HAND .. POWER ON THE CW800 FROM THE BACK.

Hold the power button approx 2 seconds more after it powers up .. and then you can let go and the "BOOT" should stay on by itself.

Now take your NULL CABLE and attach it to the back of the CW800.

On Loader Browse and Select the Latest BIN ( Make sure its Unziped)

I loaded this bin file into the Loader ... selected COM PORT 4 on loader..

Download S/W should be selected on Loader...

Now click START .. the 0% should start counting up .. to 100% when it finishes you will see "END"

Now you should be done.

Unhook the cable from the box ..

Power the CW800 OFF from the back .. take it back to the TV and Hook the antenna back up and wire it to your TV..

Power the unit on ... and you should see the unit now start to Boot Up as It Should .. it did for me ..

end c/p

Or you can try this:

1-Turn off receiver on rear switch.
2-Remove lnb cable.
3-Turn on receiver.
4-Load 1.92 bin.
5-Reboot.
6-Load 1.94 bin.
7-Reboot.
8-Follow intructions for serial number (sn located in label under receiver).
9-Load latest bin
10-Set your settings.
11-Connect lnb in cable.
12-Scan sat channels.
13-Enjoy. working for dn.

I got the boot to stay on continuously. When I tried to load with the cable I got what looks like "R 000" on the front display and nothing else happens.

Am I doing something wrong still?

Thanks for your help so far.

Did you try loading factory file using usb stick? That usually fixes the problem.

I'm sorry if I seem dumb, but I don't know how to load S/W from the USB stick if I can't get the receiver to load up past the boot.

There must be something I'm missing. Thanks in advance for letting me know.

Try the second option, I think that will be the only way. And try loading the fix file and the factory file.

How did this problem start?
