Question Using the loop out on cw700s

I can't use the loop out port on my cw700s because when I do all my channels go to scrambled. If I hook up a cable from the out loop of my cw700s to my dn receiver even if the dn receiver has the power off my signal strength drops about 10% on my stb I tried using a ab switch, disq switch but nothing seems to work. The reason for doing this is to make it simple to switch boxes over when we have a new ecm and I'm waiting for the new fix.Does anybody know if there is a good in-line signal booster out there that would help this problem?Do signal boosters really work? Thanks for any in-put on this problem.=)

Default My 2 cents :)

Holly81604 what kind of dish you have up outside? Wal-Mart has a push button box that allows for you to hook up different componants and switch them just by a push of a button. I would come up with another way other than using the loop out on the back of your stb, because I have seen receivers smoke upon hookup of the loop out. If voltage is not right could fry your box. If you have the extra ports on your dish, I would just run another feed to your fta box/receiver, I would not put a signal booster in line with that receiver. This is just my 2 cents

Thanks for the info,my dish is a dish 500. I have one lead going to one dn receiver and the other to a 2nd dn receiver.I tried using an A/B switch using one lead to the in port of the a/b switch, and then on the out ports one to the stb and one to the dn receiver, but the cw700s is so sensitive it won't work that way.Even though there is 0 ohms resistance going through the switch.
I guess I'll keep doing it the way I have been (don't want to smoke the stb)
better safe than sorry. Thanks again San.

Default Just my 2 cents :)

Holly81604 your welcome and I am like you on the being safe, don't have a money tree in the back yard to replace what I screw up The receiver sends a 13 ohms to one bird and 17 to the other I believe, which causes the switch to change when you go between birds, the switch is designed to do that, so other switches can cause a problem, some dishes have built in switches which will work as long as you leave switch off that came with your dish. It is better to run stb to its own dish alot of times to just make it easier, and less problems. Just my 2 cents

Signal amplifiers do work, they increase Q % around 10% or more depending on the receiver but i don't think that will solve your issue.
