Default General Helpful Hints on Forum Posting

General Helpful Hints on Forum Posting Here are a few helpful guidelines that if followed, make life here for everyone just a little bit better.

This information will help people new to forum posting.

Need help? You MUST read this!

Try to understand, members here are the most talented & helpful people you will ever find, but we are NOT mind readers. Many of you are new to FTA testing. It is VERY important that you read all of the stickies (posts at the top of each section) before you ask a question. When you DO ask a question, these are things to remember.

1. Do your homework and read as much as you can about your equipment before posting

2. Know your equipment, right down to the model numbers and Dish & lnb type.

3. Include the brand & model numbers etc. of the equipment you need to ask questions about.

4. Include the type of dish and lnb you are trying to setup.

5. Include any information you can about your own experience with satellites.

6. Include any info that your dealer has given you about the equipment you purchased.

7. Include what all came with your unit (what switch, what cable, etc.)

8. Include what cable you used from your unit to the dish and how long a run it is.

9. Explain in as much detail as possible what you are trying to accomplish.

10. Be sure and tell us what flash (bin or image) you are using or have tried.

11. Be sure and include any channel lists you may have downloaded or IF you scanned instead.

12. Explain in step by step detail EXACTLY what you’ve done so far.

13. Explain exactly what is occurring and when it is occurring if applicable.

14. Be PATIENT! There are many people viewing , but it may take awhile to get your answers.

15. Use the site navigation guide for a better understanding of how this site works Here!

If you will follow the above steps and correctly explain your problem, chances are you will not only get your answer swiftly, but YOU will also learn and understand each & every step necessary to get the desired results. Glorious, uninterrupted TV! Follow the rules and post responsibly for the very best FTA experience available.

Please avoid the following:

Post the same question in multiple forums. This is most common with newbies. Many times people will post a question or comment in one forum, and if they don't get any immediate responses they go to another forum and post the same question. Make sure to determine the best forum for your question. Posting the same question in multiple forums will cause your thread to be closed or deleted by a moderator.

PM Mods for answers to problems. If you have a problem, and need an answer, post your problem in the forums, instead of PM'ing a mod. This way others can benefit if they have the same problem.

Don't ask basic questions that have already been asked over and over. Don't forget about the 'search' feature. It's a powerful and easy tool to use, and it can be used to find strings of text or posts by specific authors (members). There are many threads, and in many cases your questions will be answered there.

Try not to post in the wrong forum. Most subjects have a home somewhere. If you just don't know then take your best shot.

These guidelines help keep things organized and hopefully smooth.

Thanks for coming by, and we hope you enjoy yourself here.

Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right.Love the ones who do not, just because you can.Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands. If it changes your life, let it.Kiss slowly.Forgive quickly.God never said life would be easy.He just promised it would be worth it.

You do not have to be crazy to be my friend, but it sure helps.................
