Chinese Sonicview 4000 Clones

Word out is that the Sonicview 4000 has some clones out on the market. This has not been confirmed at this point, however, one should keep this in mind when buying a sonicview 4000 at this time.

It was noted that out of 5 units bought off e-bay 2 were clones. When bin files were loaded on these 2 units the screen flashed a message saying that the 2 units were clones. All 5 units looked the same from the outside of the unit.

How would you know you bought a clone has been ask quite a few times and the only thing I am seeing so far is that the real Sonicview receivers say made in Korea and the clones say made in China.

The real maker of Sonicview is said to be: Vicxon Corporation
They are a very reputable Korean company that make several products. You will see little or no mention of sonicview or other "sub brands" but if you look at the products on their web site you can see which of their models is actualy a sonicview, theirs just start with VX instead of SV.

Since the Sonicview 4000 was discontinued I would recommend no one buy one, until you check this out. Make sure you buy from a approved vender or well known site. It is a great box which I have tested and like very much, but if I was in the market I sure would not buy a discontinued box now. I would go for a newer model. This is just my thoughts.

Please keep in mind that this hasn't been confirmed by me or anyone I know at this time and so far is just a rumor.

Another reason to buy from authorized dealers. Not just Sonicview receivers but any brand. It was just a matter of time before they start cloning Viewsat and Sonicview. It's always worth spending a few extra bucks at least you know what u got.
