ok i just set up dish 1000 for my maxhd receiver and i have been seeing on here on the fix files that it shows the regular in example "Fix Feb.27.2009" and then on "other files" has a "VSMAX Updated Ciel 2 ( 129W ) SAT INFO FILE am i suppose to be loading that file up as well? i mean my receiver works fine and all and i do see alot more HD channels anyone know what i need to do or worry about?

2nd i have alot of channels that show no information on the channel guide is there like a fix to correct that problem where it will show the title of the shows or movies that is showing? and if so how do u fix it or dlld it? i am very new to this sorry if everything here sounds corney thank you

Sat info file is intended to update TP's / Transponders on sat 129W, it you are aimed at that sat you can download this file. If you are aimed at DN Sat's 110/119 this file would be useless. As far your EPG goes here is a link that might help you out.

well does it really matter if i download for 129w if the channels are showing? and if so do i have to save anything before i do so?

If all your channels are working fine i wouldn't bother downloading the file. Don't fix it if it isn't broken

I loaded this file onto my Viewsat MAX HD recently and seem to cause some issues. Maybe its my lack of understanding. I purchased the unit about 3 months ago and have been using the fixes as they come out with a good deal of sucess. After I loaded this sat file, I noticed that 129 in my antenna setup is now named ciel 2. When I do autoscan now, I don't get as many channels as before. Also, when doing an antenna setup, I can change the TP freqs for 129 (and others) to the proper settings but the unit won't always ask if I want to save the changes. Even when it does, they don't always stick. Can't seem to decode HD channels anymore either. Not sure if its a file problem, system problem or just a loose nut behind the wheel. Any suggestions? Any help is appreciated...

I would recommend to start over, do a factory reset using your remote control than load the factory file. Now your receiver will be like brand new. Than load the last fix file, setup the dish settings and scan for channels. After that everything will be okay.

Went through all the steps you outlined. Did a factory default. Loaded factory file v110. Then loaded the .PEG file from 3/19. Adjusted SAT settings (119 tp to 12239, and ceil 2 tp to 12282). Saved and did AtuoScan with network off. Got more PPV channels this time around but NO HD channels. Had to sit on a single PPV channel for a while before it decoded. Afte some time chnged channels to check what else is available and when I came back to that same PPV channel it wouldn't decode!
Any Thoughs?
