hoping someone can help, after loading the viewsat xtreme improvement fix bin april.08.09 on my uncles reciever he has no EPG. any ideas out there?? i have to try and fix it over the phone for him, he has no internet access where he lives

He can try to do factory default and rescan.Also take a look at this link it might help you out.

we have tried a factor reset and still have the same issue. he is getting lots of channels but the guide says NO INFO. you can still watch tv but you just don't know whats on. i have a feeling that he may have played with one of the system settings that is causing the guide not to download...i don't know a lot about this reciever so i am not sure where to guide him.

In order for his guide to work his time setting has to be set up properly and Sort By SID option should be enabled to sort the channels. Here is a link to detailed instructions with pictures that will show you how to set up the time on VS Xtreme.

Have you tried to go into the menu and run a EPG update scan I know the extreme can do that.

thanks for the info, but unfortunatly that hasn't worked. The screen shoots are a little different but I was able to navigate him through it. The time is set correctly (AUTO) -5:00 and channel edit to sort by SID. when you display the guide it shows you the current time, the correct guide search time ie 8:00 | 8:30 | 9:00 and the network name beside the channel number, but the guide still show NO INFO for all of the channels. It is as if it hasn't downloaded the guide (if that is somehow possible)

Not sure where its at in the menu but I know its there in user options.How do you have your sat option set on ALL Sats or Echostar package?

No it should be Echostar package. Tell him to turn receiver off for about 15 min and turn it back on and see if guide comes in.
