LOL don't like the 3 head dave dishes, but sure did the dave 1 and 2 lnb dishes back in the card days You've got the right dish/lnbf and the receivers should work fine. You got to get quality and then tweak the dish and get as high Q as you can get, that is more important than Signal. My hubby(EKIM) is out in the shop and will be in a little while and might have a few pointers to add, as we have a big/10foot and a 36 as well and he messes with them and system setup so he can add his 2 cents in on this issue. Just hang tight for a few and we will see what we can find out for you and see if we can get you up and running

We already have Directv. One of the old Directv [ one to three head - won't even try an HD ] dishes we can set up and be sipping a tall cool one in less than 15 minutes. I bet we've set up a dozen of them. We had a "repairman" come out one time to install a new box [ big deal ]. He wanted to know who set up the dish. We told him we did. He was impressed. Had a 95 to 99 signal across the board.

Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right.Love the ones who do not, just because you can.Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands. If it changes your life, let it.Kiss slowly.Forgive quickly.God never said life would be easy.He just promised it would be worth it.

You do not have to be crazy to be my friend, but it sure helps.................

hello tracieok : sounds like your lnb is good, i too do not like the 3 prong lnb . where your cablecomes out of the lnb, is it conected to your receiver and does it have anything at all is signal ?can you put a finder on at this connection and see? now remember in set up in settings under installing dish, lnb type should be
universal or single, lnb type is 11250 , 22 khz off ,lnb power on , transponder 12224 or just pick on that has strength ,search options all , network on , now here is the diseq switch selector. if you have a switch on that 3 head ,you will have to rotate it to find the one that has power,if not choice would be off , motor off , and your legacy switch off. these sitting can vary. i see you have sit up many before so you'll already know how to move these settings.when you point at dick or dave do you have power signal strength ?

here check out this head this is the one I bought and put on an old 30inch d!sh i had for Ku band sats

It's a brand new standard ku band linear LNB. It works for all linear polarization ku band satellites. Great choice for Telstar 5, Galaxy 10R, Galaxy 3C, Telstar 6, AMC15 (Dishnetwork 105) and all other Linear Polarity satellites. It works with all satellite receivers, just set LNB type as standard with 10750 as LNB frequency.

as you can see it says to put lnb type to 10750 thats the frequencey you want to setup in ur stb ,,that mite help you find ur bird....

just thought this mite help, the 10750 frequency because if you dont know the frequency then you will never find that damn bird.

and one more thing, when you start a new Thread please stay on the same Thread, so all help and answers are all on one page.

it just makes it easier for everyone instead of jumping back and fourth and saves time... and(bandwidth)

and one more thing I just want to say thanks for joing this great site!!!
and if you ever need any help dont be shy,,,just ask and some one here will do there best to help you out!

good luck on this tuff setup but if you stay at it I think you will prevail

This really is all one thread. Just some sort of side remarks thrown in. I've changed the subject heading in replies to reflect the question/suggestion I am addressing in that particular message.

Default Hogwash - possible solution

As some have sort of hinted at and a friend in Wichita suggested I think we may have hit on a possible solution. Our satellite junkie friend in Wichita [ at one time he had six C Band 10/12 footers in his yard ] suggested a minimum of 36 inch dish with a 39 being a better choice. Having just bought this 33" I sort of hate to lay out more scarce funds but if that's what it takes so be it. [ Anyone want to buy a barely used 33" dish *<]D ]

I think we will probably keep playing with this one till we get a bigger one but I see a bigger dish on the horizon for our yard.

We really appreciate everyones suggestions and help.
