I saw somewhere that you could set up an FTA dish in about 15 minutes. I say _HOGWASH_ !!!!!
We have a Digistar 33" dish and a Digiwave DGL-780 LNB. One receiver is an Extreme View Magnum XV-3300 and the other is a Coolsat 4000Pro. The temporary mount is dead straight. We've been fighting this thing for days and getting absolutely no where in one helluva hurry. We can find Dish and Directv but that's about it. Even if we do find some sort of signal we have no idea what it is. Might be little green men for all we can tell. We've tried getting our aiming data from several different sources but all get us no where. I'm beginning to think all the rest of the satellites fell out of the sky. |

did you go to like satfinder.com to find ur sat settings?
and do you have a birddog (a sat signal finder) them fta birds are real touchy as they dont have a big signal like d!sh or bev,,,,the signal is weaker for Ku band well if you was going for Charlie or bev you woulda been done already. and probably you woulda been done in 15 minutes then. any way good luck them birds are tough,,but if you keep at it youn should find it. here look at this link it show you where the birds are at in the sky, scroll down the link page and take a look>>>http://www.ftaprofessionals.tv/useful-fta-programming-resources/3993-picture-all-satelites.html

Right now we are concentrating on AMC9. I've been getting aiming data from SatelliteAV primarily, but other places as well. All agree where to point.
We are at 97.42W by 35.87N [ close enough for government work ]. The satellite is supposed to be at 83.00W. Azimuth is supposed to be at 156.3 and a compass heading of 153.8 dish elevation 45.6 rotation -19.01. Starting there and searching we find _nothing_!! |

We've used Sat Finder as well as SatelliteAV to get our aiming data.
The only satellite we've been able to find is Nimiq91. |

one more thing is ur satd!sh all level and true?
this makes a big difference if it's not true and level as the settings would be different, than what you think if its not true and level.

tracieok I think I found out one of your problems, I've been trying to locate info on your lnb, for free to air, I know you need a LNBF, that type of lnb allows you to get KU channels free to air, that bird you are trying for I also have heard is very hard to hit , the transponder is hard to get. Looks like even in Atlanta some people have reported very weak signals on the regular tp used and state using tp 11775 instead, and a 30 inch dish was also noted on a few of those post which can cause a problem also, you need a bigger dish for free to air, now your dish my be just fine, but your lnb my be the problem, I am looking into that for you at this time.
