Worldwidesat's it's a good and trusted site, dealt with them before and never had any problems. Just like with any other dealer before sending a fta unit back make sure you do factory reset and load factory file. As long there is no 3rd party software installed on a STB it has been used for free to air purposes only.

Thanks for that info! I didn't know that! When we bought our Viewsat the dealer told us never ever reset to factory default. Why would he tell us that?

Default factory file

dealers what to make money.if it has third party materials loaded it voids any warranty. good luck----what receiver do you what to reset back to the orginal factory settings ?

I don't understand why the dealer would tell you that but I am going to guess because most of his customers don't know how to reprogram the receiver once they do a factory reset and end up calling him with questions.

Factory reset is always necessary when returning fta receivers as loading any file other than factory file will void the warranty.

Default Viewsat

We bought a Viewsat... I just want to get it back to where we started so that when I decide to talk to our dealer everything will be clean. There is a link with instructions... not a problem, I can handle it. I was getting double channels because I scanned one tooooooooooooo many times! LOL I learned that from ya'll! LOL Anyway, reset to factory settings should clear everything up. I'm going to try to do a trade in? I'll see what happens. Thanks you guys! I'll get back with you if I have any problems!
