I ran into the same thing on a sv 4000 and entering 0000 with the remote made the receiver boot up.You can try to force load factory file with usb or loader.Below is the instructions for force loading if receiver is stuck on booting.

Question Forced Load

I just did the forced load with the factory rom file, it said "WRITE OK" after flashing but just stays there saying "Write OK".

Did you push the OK button when you seen Write OK? It doesn't hurt to keep trying several times. Its a good sign your seeing something different.

Question OK Button

Nah I don't think I pushed the ok button. I'll load it again and press ok at the write ok message.
Thanks again,
Doug

Unhappy OK Button

Well I pushed ok after reloading the factory firmware but it's still the same. No display and no video.

Question Factory Reset

How can I do a factory reset without being able to see anything. There is no TV signal and most of the time no front panel display, is there a way to do that? Cause I would like to make sure the factory reset went ok and the factory firmware installed ok so I can send it in under warranty.
Thanks again,
Doug

Doing the factory reset may not matter.Look in your user manual and look at the menu screen pictures.I don't have the 8000 so I can't tell you what your screens look like I know my Elite is different.Push your exit button twice just to make sure no menu option is up.Then push your menu button once. Then installation option should be highlighted if you could see it.Then push OK button.I believe the factory reset/default option should be on the right side of the page again if you could see it.If so looking at your manual count down from the top how many lines down to factory rest and push your channel down button that many times. Then click OK.Then you may need to push your volume down button once to put check in the box. Then push OK.I hope this helps.
