Nimiq 5 Launch Countdown
Nimiq 5 Launch Countdown Nimiq 5 is a commercial communications satellite built by Space Systems/ Loral. The satellite has a 32 transponder Ku-Band payload with capability to switch capacity between Canada and the Continental United States coverage areas. The satellite will be located at 72.7° West longitude. This satellite will be dedicated to the provision of direct-to-home services as part of Telesat's DTH fleet.

seeing this for real
gives you and idea of what materals involved in making such a satilite it kind of reminds me of how a race car weight is reduced by types of materal ,the solar panel hughemungus output to maintain such a unit .the dishes to transmit and receive seem so thin this is very interisting

For a satellite it's fairly small comparing to some older satellites launched in the past.
