hi all is there a brand specific reciever you have to buy to use with private servers right now im running a viewsat hd max and its definately payed for itself ,ive noticed limesat and sonicview have been running .if i went with the limesat hd or hd sonicview would i need to change the 8spk module also thanks in advance for any info

Unfortunately VS only works on private server using X-Fta dongle,WF doesn't work.Limesat and Sonicview HD are working on both Akai public server and private servers but you would need a HD board for them,another great HD receiver i would consider is Dreamlink HD,only works on private servers at this time but great value for a HD receiver and awesome picture.

thank you that is good to know ,personally what a private server costs and if there is little interuption .i dont know why you would go back to a public server ill have to look at the pros and cons of all recievers thanks again

Yeah i would do a little bit of research before buying a new STB especially a HD receiver as they don't come cheap.I always recommend receivers that are capable of both private and public servers.SV 8000 is a great receiver unfortunately discontinued but there are still a few kicking around on ebay,you will also need a dongle called Wizhub for SV but it comes with 2 Years support from Akai public server,Limesat HD great receiver but pricey and in case you decide to buy Dreamlink HD make sure to buy red HD module and not green,green module causes pixelation for some users.If you have any additional questions don't hesitate to ask.
