Limesat - Message regarding the current Freezing issues and the many Bins being used - Dec 6, 2010

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A message to all reading this Thread because you may be experiencing Freezing on BEV and/or dn
Dec 6, 2010

Time and time again we post that if you are experiencing any Freezing on either BEV or dn that this is being caused by issues at the Server End. Nothing to do with what Bin you are running.

Time and time again we are being asked for help to get Receivers up gain because the receiver quit Responding after trying to load Bins that are not required.

Let me emphasize this again in Bold Type

Presently the only 3 Bins we are recommending to be used are these:

Bin 253 for BEV and DN
Bin 256 for Bev and DN for those Connection Problematic Receivers that do not get Connect[2] with Bin 253
Bin 258 for those pointing at Telefonica 61W

Please stay way from Factory V2.01, Bin 254, Bin 255, Bin 257 and Bin 259 as none of these will help with the Freezing. The Freezing we are all experiencing is due to the Server not to our Connections or the Bins we run.

Additionally contrary to what you may read elsewhere, there is no need to load any Factory Bins before loading Bin 253 or newer.

The only exception being, if the Receiver is not responding, if you cannot get to the Menu or if you see a E**** error displayed on the Front Panel, then use Factory V1.03 with the Limesat Loader and a Null Modem Cable to bring your Box back to life.

Then Load one of the 3 recommended Bins posted above. Bin 253 or 256 or 258 as per the particular need

61W aka Telefonica is South American satellite not available in North America, bin 253 is the best working bin for all other sats.

If you are pointed at Telefonica already try 258 bin and see if it works. There are many private servers out there and the one that has the best value and it's most stable supports DN only.

Thumbs up ARab channels

Dear FTA PRO
I have Limesat and I was trying to get the 118.8W(on limesat there is 118W)
My questions are:
1- Can you plz give us the setting for 118.8W(118W)?
2-what is your best recommecdation for the BIN to use right now? I have the 259 but I'm missing about 10Arab channels and have freezing issues
3-how can I change the connection to use SERVER 2 instead of the default server 1?
4-is there any BLIND scan for Limesat?which SCAN I should use?
5-Finally, I want to share with you that the Limesat BOOklet came with the receiver doesn't provide enough information for the setup of the receiver, such as FAV, how to delet SAT..and even the booklet has different receiver model figures instead of the actual one came in the box(e.i on the back of the receiver there is (ANT and TV/DVD) in the booklet there is (Loop and ANT)..
we thank you a lot for your thoughts and we really appreciate your efforts
thanks
Jimmy

Very few channels are working on 118 W at this time so if you have any channels at all your setup is correct. Latest file is v259 and it was supposed to fix connection issue,258 is recommended for International channels so i guess you could give it a try and see if you have less freezing.Channel selection is the same on both server 1 and 2 so no point really trying to change servers. And as far user manual goes you can take a look at this copy, it is a scanned copy and not the best quality but it might be helpful. I wouldn't recommend loading any unnecessary files, freezing is server related and if 259 works for you i would stick with it.Limesat has been having some connection issues and file 253 seems to work the best so i would try that instead of loading factory files etc. Limesat team is aware of the problem and working on it hopefully it will be resolved soon.
