Default Hi to all, and I have questions

I don't usually post on sites, but now I find I need help from someone else...

I've been using some form of FTA for about 15 years now, currently I have a Viewsat ultra running on WF IKS using a public server. Obviously this isn't working and I need to upgrade. I live in Western Canada and cannot find anyone with Sonicview receivers in stock. Can someone let me know what receiver would be comparable and HD. I also need to know if I go to IKS Japan, what additional hardware or software I would need.

Thanks for all your help. I live in a rural area and even getting connectivity isn't easy - no local TV or radio either

At this point if you would like to stick with public server and looking for HD receiver Limesat HD Air is your only option for new STB,SV 8000 has been discontinued even though there are still a few used units available on ebay.Limesat comes with 2 year warranty code from Akai which is basically server access for 2 years and no additional hardware is required. If you decide to go with SV 8000 you would need a new dongle called Wizhub which also comes with 2 years warranty code. You have many more options for private servers but that's about it for public at this time, don't hesitate to ask if you have any additional questions and welcome to fta fire.

Default great answer

Thanks so much, I've decided to go with Limesat air, and think it may come with 2 years on a private server. It'll cost about $350 and I don't know if it comes with the programming, but am sure I'll be able to figure it out with help from this community!

Cheers,
