Default How to Load Files to the Pansat 2700

Loading Files to the Pansat 2700

***This applies to the original 2700, not the 2500 to 2700 conversions.

What I do is create a new folder called 'ps2700' on my PC to put all the files for this receiver. You should use the extract command or tab on your unzipping program (winrar) and extract the files to that folder. This puts the loader and all files in one easy to find place.

Download and unzip the GTRom Loader 27.02

Download and unzip the latest update file located in file section.

No other programs or software should be running on your computer
when loading files to your receiver.

1.) Turn your Pansat 2700 "OFF" with the rear power switch. If you have to move it to your computer, unplug it and then disconnect the satellite/TV cables last. The RG6 cables should always be connected/disconnected after powering down the receiver.

2.) Connect the RS232C (DB9) null modem cable to the receiver and Com1 port of your computer. (Use Com2 if not Com1 is not available). You must use a Null Modem serial cable, or a straight serial cable with a "null" adapter.
You can use a USB to serial adapter cable and plug your null cable into it or a null gender changer and the adapter alone, but you must load a USB to serial driver for it to work. If a driver CD did not come with your USB adapter cable, you can get a driver from: usb-drivers.com

You have four com ports to choose from on the loader, but com port 1 is the default when the loader is opened. If you are using the USB adapter, the port number may be different from com port 1.

3). Plug in the receiver, Turn your 2700 "ON" with the rear switch, and see that “On” is showing on the LED on the receiver.

4). Run the GTRom Loader 27.02 from the folder on your PC.

5. Select 'App File' and select the latest update file by clicking 'Bin File.' A browser will open and you will locate the update file you unzipped in your folder. The file will be in this format:
X-87BL_000000_000_api .bin , then click the 'Open' button

6. Double check and make sure the cable is securely connected to your receiver and PC.

7. Click the 'Download' button, wait until the “Download Completed!!” is displayed. Watch the LED on the receiver, it should reboot itself, wait until the “On” display.

8). Wait for unit to finish the flash, DO NOT INTERRUPT THIS IN ANY WAY! It may take 15min for this file to transfer.

9). When receiver reboots and displays “On” wait a few more secs until you see the "Download Complete" popup on your PC. Many people unplug too soon!
You are now finished with the software update. Power off the receiver, unplug from power, disconnect from cable and computer.

***After connecting the receiver back to the TV/satellite cables and powering it back up, it may take up to 15-20min for the file to autoroll the keys. You can speed this up by setting it to channel 239 for D***n** or 410 for B***. I always go into 'antenna setup' in menu and verify that the settings are correct after loading a new file.
