Default How To Rescan Satellites

Rescanning Instructions for Sonicview SV-1000

First off, you will have to delete the present scanned in channels before you scan in the new ones or you will get duplicates of some channels. You must write down your present settings so you can input them again later.

Click Menu
Make sure you are in Installation Menu. If not, right arrow until you are.
Down arrow to Dish Settings...click OK
Turn off the Lnb power to the other Satellite you have hooked up to get a clean scan without interference from the other lnb's.
Make sure the Sat you want to rescan is on the line that says Satellite. (Right arrow until the one you want is showing)
Dish 110 is Echo Star 6,8 110.0W
Dish 119 is Echo Star 7 119.0W
Dish 61.5 is Echo Star 3 61.5W
Dish 121 is Echo Star 9 121.0W
**** 91 is Nimiq 1,3 91.0W
**** 82 is Nimiq 2 82.0W

Write down the settings that are listed.

LNB Power
LNB Type
LNB Frequency
Transponder
22KHz
Search Option
Network Search
DiSEqC
Motor
Legacy Switch

You will need these settings later.

Make sure the sat you want to rescan is highlighted at the top.
Click OK
Another menu will pop up.
Make sure the sat you want to rescan is highlighted there as well. Down arrow until it is.
Press green button on remote.
When the Delete Satellite screen pops up, make sure "yes" is highlighted and click OK (Don't worry, you are just deleting the channels that were scanned in, not deleting the actual satellite from your receiver)
Click Exit
Input the settings you wrote down earlier by using the down arrow to get to the settings to be changed and right clicking until the settings show up correctly. (You DID write them down..right?)
After the settings are correct, then press the Red button on the remote and the channels and transponders will be scanned in. This will take a minute or two.
When complete, a window will pop up asking you "Do you want to save?" Click OK
Turn the LNB power back on for the other satellite you are aimed at.

Now that wasn't that hard was it?

Just repeat the same steps for any other satellite you want to rescan in. After you are used to doing this, it is not too hard at all.

It should not be necessary to do this very often. Only do this if you think the provider has changed transponders for some channels and you are missing channels you were getting before. Or if you think you are missing some of the games that should be in the Centre Ice Package. If those channels weren't "live" when you did your original scan, you may not have them all at game time. The best time to do this in that case, is on a Saturday night at about 8PM when most of the channels are "Live"
