We aren't able to load with the usb stick. It gets stuck in rebooting....time after time after time.
We received a reply from another moderator giving us possibly another way to use the usb stick but in his directions he said, "Connect the USB-stick, before logging on, to the cable that can be found on the desk." I replied back that I wasn't clear as to what cable he was referring to nor what desk he meant. Can you explain? Thanks, Janell |

I just read that and it does not make sense, all you need to do is plug it in to the USB port on your computer.
Try it with USB and if that is not working you can use the 9 pin null modem cable. One thing that may help is turn off the power (from the back) and disconnect the antenna cable ( cable from LNB ) wait about 5 min so that the receiver can reset the memory and then try to load the fix file or the factory file with the antenna cable disconnected.

Did you try to force loading ? Here is how.
Forced loading boot from usb procedure Here is the steps to revive your receiver if it gets "stuck on booting" where the display stays on booting and doesn't complete and reboot. 1. Do a clean FAT32 format on your USB stick. 2. Load the latest update bin file to the USB stick. 3. Turn the rear power switch on the receiver OFF. 4. Plug your USB stick into the receivers USB port. 5. Now do a forced load by pressing the MENU key on the front panel of the receiver and at the same time switch the rear power switch ON. Continue to hold the MENU button until you see "LOAD USB" on the front panel then release Menu button. It will then boot from the USB stick. IMPORTANT NOTE: When using this step, please make sure there are nothing else in the device besides the latest bin file (That is the reason behind the clean FAT32 reformat).

Yes, we have tried that. I hope the 8000 is a good unit, but I must say that part of the frustration that we are feeling is due to the fact that this has been going on so long. We submit a question, then wait for the answer. Multiply that by the number of questions that we've asked and it becomes quite an ordeal. Is there any way that we can speak to someone more directly? Phone, instant messaging, or something?
Thanks, Janell |

Unfortunately we don't provide phone support any more. And it would be harder to help you over the phone anyways, here we can give you links to guides with pictures and much more information then we would be able to do any other way. I know it's frustrating but that's why we call this hobby testing, you have to test a few different things to find a solution.

OK looks like you will have to go old school here. Loading the file using null cable. Here is the link for the loader ( it's SV 4000 Loader but it should work on SV 8000 ) http://ftaprofessionals.tv/showthread.php?t=78 Download the Loader to your PC unzip it and then download How to load a file using SV loader found here http://ftaprofessionals.tv/showthread.php?t=184 Then load the factory file for SV 8000 http://ftaprofessionals.tv/showthread.php?t=70 let the receiver fully reboot. After you loaded factory file using null cable load the latest SV 8000 fix using the same method http://ftaprofessionals.tv/showthread.php?t=1461
Read everything and follow all the steps carefully and let us know if that solved your problem. Good luck and make sure you unzip all files before using them.
