After FINALLY accomplishing a factory reset, we began doing the satellite settings. We have the Dish Pro 1000.2 which means we need to use the Ocs-dp setting. For some reason, it doesn't come up as an option now. Is it possible that the factory reset files are old and the newer dish wasn't included in their software?
Thanks, Janell |

Never mind the last question. For some unknown reason, it suddenly appeared again. We have a new issue now though. The Q/S which was working fine using our SV4000, when connected to the 8000 is only showing Q of 5 and no S. What in the world is wrong now?
I'm about ready to throw this receiver through the window. We never had any problems with the 4000 but upgraded because we got an HD tv. Regretting that decision now. Please help before I completely lose my mind. Thanks. Janell |

Just to be clear, after we did the factory reset using the null cable, we had signal strength and quality just like we are getting using the SV4000, we had channels, but we needed to put in the latest fix because the channels said they were either scrambled or there was no signal. We then put the latest fix in using a clean FAT32 USB stick. It was after that that our signal and quality went to virtually nothing. We tried this process a couple of times, using a different USB stick, still to no avail. Another thought......when we put the fix in using the USB stick, we have several options. We've been using the one that says S/W update. Is that the one we should use? We really don't think the issue is the dish or it's settings because we are able to use the 4000 using the same dish and settings with no problems. We're at a loss......still. Thanks for your help. Yes use the S/W update to download your fixes and make sure the receiver reboots before you unplug usb drive.Your dish settings look ok.Does your receiver confirm that you are locked in on all sats if so is it showing S/Q when scanning sats and are you saving info after scan?

When we did the factory reset, we used the files directly from the Sonicview website rather than the files you have on this website. I'm wondering if there was another file (maybe that you guys have) that we also need to load?
Another piece of food for thought, after we did the reset and before we loaded the fix, we could get all fta channels (like NASA), now we don't get any channels, fta or otherwise. Also, we tried loading the latest fix via the null cable. Same results. HELP! |
