Default Need help with Sonicview 4000

Have not had my fta up since last August (only use during the summer months at the cottage). Loaded the newest bin - all channels are showing except no picture - message says "waiting for update". Any suggestions? I tried most of the forum suggestions but nothing. My Signal/Quality are really good. Should I delete all, set to factory settings again and reload bin? I am not that savvy with the "whole fta systems". I am running on Nimiq 1 3 Sat. Also, what is an auto roll? Is it the same as auto scan? I tried the scans (even blind scan) and again, nothing. Please help !

Okay, so if I can't get bell on Nimiq because of the Nag3 switch, what are my other options..does anyone know when it will be fixed. When I was playing around with my fta I know that I had some good quality and signal on one of the Echostar sats...is there something else I can do to get some sort of channels? This is upsetting...

Default May want to look at receiver upgrade :)

tracyp you can home in on birds for DN(110 and 119 echostar) channels are going on that provider as well due to n3, but it will give you some tv for a while until all has gone to n3. Make sure your S & Q are above 80%, the Q is more important and you should really try to make it as high as possible so all tp freg.'s will come in. You may want to upgrade receiver that uses IKS/Internet connection which will give you bev back, not all channels but a lot of them have been brought back after n3 change with IKS, maybe look at nfusion or sonicview 360elite with Ihub. Hope this helps, need anymore info, just let us know

At this point, I really don't want to invest in another FTA given I only use it for about 4 months out of the year (summer at the cottage with no internet access). You alluded that the n3 turnover has not even been completed - so I'm assuming the fix is a long time coming? Does anyone have any approximate timelines? It would be nice to have some basic tv available.

Default Reaim your dish to 110/119 for tv :)

tracyp we have no timeline as to when all is going to be gone, the only thing I can tell you is to reaim your dish to dn, is your dish one lnb or two? If two lnbs, you can home into birds 110 and 119 echostar and get some tv for now. If one lnb dish just home into one of those birds and it will give you some tv for now. If you need anymore help in setting up echostar let us know

It may take some time before the coders crack the N3, if you don't have a internet connection than the only other way is the free to air.

Below are some useful posts that will explain what free to air is:

Soooo...you are saying I can get some tv on echostar 110 or 119? When I choose echostar on my sat listing it doesn't remain on that selection - do I have to save somewhere...it keeps reverting back to Nimiq...again, sorry for these repetitive questions - I am not very savvy with this techy stuff. Is there anything else I need to know about echostar 110/119? Also, I read the thread on the true FTA channels - it seems the requirements may be out of my league. I am sure we have a 30 inch dish with one linear lnb. I wasn't understanding the instructions - I'm not familiar with all of the acronyms you experts use when discussing fta's? I would also give the true FTA signal a try - that would be more than enough for " summer cottage" tv, but I would need step by step instructions...thanks !

Default Aim at 110 :)

Yes you can get some channels on 110 or 119 birds, you will have to home in your dish for that bird. The dish you are using for nimiq will work for 110 or 119. When you go into set up and select your bird(110 or 119) make sure you highlight the 110 or 119 bird and then click ok and finish anything else in there that you may need to set and hit exit and it should ask you if you want to save, click yes. If you choose 119 bird, then tp needs to be on 12239 for that one, default setting is 12224 and that setting is fine for 110, I believe you will pick up more channels on 110 bird. Let us know when you move the dish and hit that bird and start your set up if you need anymore help
