Do you have Ip config in receiver menu? Thats where you enter serial numbers for ihub.

Click MENU / INSTALLATION / IPCONFIG
Setting type - DHCP
USE DNS - YES
Domain name - svftaiks.com
Server port 1920
PUT IN YOUR SERIAL NUMBER BE CAREFUL THE LETTERS ARE VERY SMALL, CHECK TWICE FOR TYPO IN SERIAL NUMBER AND IN DOMAIN NAME

Entering serial number for iHub

The serial number for the iHub as well as many electronic devices is in hexadecimal. Hexadecimal ( commonly referred to simply as "Hex" ) only has 16 characters. They are the digits 0 through 9 and the letters A through F. If you look at the serial number for your iHub you will notice the letters are small lower case letters and may be hard to read. For instance the letter "e" may look like a letter "o" with a slash through the middle but trust me it is an "e". When you go to the setup screen for entering the serial number look at the bottom of your screen and you will see a key for which remote buttons to use for the letters. Now just simply enter them and save and you are done

Default I-hub not working

Ok got the serial# in & i-hub recognized had "no signal" after reboot so I loaded i-hub fix file (SV8000HD_iHub_v462_BETA_july9 ) I loose my sat signal from 70 down to 6. Reset to factory settings signal comes back.

No signal is a dish problem not Ihub.Check your ports in dish settings.Make sure your sats are locked in with there ports.

Also check your cable from the dish to receiver, move it around a bit and see if signal comes back. I would also check cables from dish to dicsq switch and make sure they are all tight and not damaged.

Default i-hub problem

I only loose sat signal after putting the (SV8000HD_iHub_v462_BETA_july9 .bin) sat signal is fine & dandy before that! if I do a factory reset sat signal comes back, if I load the ihub it goes away and so on and so on it is not a dish problem it crashes upon ihub fix installation.

I also have SV 8000 and it happened to me a few times to lose signal like that with the last fix but doing a hard boot fixed it when it happened. You need that latest file in order for your receiver to work. One more thing do you have a HD module installed in your receiver?

So is the file I am loading the latest? I dont know if i have a HD module. When I purchased the receiver the sold it to me with a HD card. Hard boot still doesnt to bring back signal strength. Only factort reset brings strength back to 70
