Default need help setting up sonicview premiere

I purchased the receive and hub in June. Got it running - then life's priorities took over -

Now trying to do it again - since all the channels I choose show either no service or scrambled channels.

I have read a lot about setting it up and see a bunch of stuff about this WIZ net thing- but no where do I see to down load it- so info on that would be helpful.

Second, I need some advice regarding our router and connection. We have a bank of 50 static ip's - but now as I research further, what we have is a publich address which is then backed by 50 private ip's - so I am assuming none of those will work.

I had our isp give me a public ip address which is mapped directly to one of our private ip's so that all ports are open (so that we don't have an issue with 1920 being closed). What ip address should I be using when I tell it the static address? The public one or the private one? Our internal network looks at the private ones.

I am not sure why I am having so much trouble with this. But I am. When we first got the system there was no wiznet thing and all I did was copy the download file and things were fine. But now I have no signal.

Any advise you can give me would be helpful. I have spent hours and hours trying to get this to work and just nothing works.

--Thanks

Sandy

open up wiznet then go to bottom of the page and clik on Search and see what it says... up in upper left hand corner it will tell you if your ihub has whatever file in it like 1.4 or the dreaded 82 wich means the hub is bricked and then will need further help on fixing...reoprt back with ur setting that you have on the wiznet after you hit the search button..

then you get the 1.9 file and extract file or unzip and then you, clik on upload and then you install the 1.9 file that way

Post try to proceed

Hi,
I have downloaded Wiznet and installed on my pc laptop. I "really" hate sounding stupid here - but I do need some help on exactly what I am supposed to do now. If I run wiznet, on my pc (on my desk) it tells me the ip address that I am connected to (which is configured in my network profile on my pc as well)- it is the right number for my machine at its location on my desk (xxx.xxx.1.6) (you dont want every one to see ur IP). - yet the connection for the SonicView receiver is upstairs and of course a different ip address.

I did update the Wiznet to 1.9 also. Now the one thing I did notice is on the wiznet screen it did give me a different dns server ip.

--------

Now I did go upstairs and started from scratch and redid everything and did a channel scan (here in San Jose, CA I use echostar7 & 8) - both showed as having excellent quality and signal.

Then was the acid test. I went through and started to view channels. I began with 200 (CNN) which gave me no signal. Then I started at 100 and went down the list one by one.

I found some connected and some did not. Of those that connected, some connected only on echo7, some on both echo 7 & 8 and just a few only on echo 8.

Of those that did not connect I either saw just "no signal" or "no signal, no connection"

The list that I could see is:
111, 109, 112, 113, 115, 116, 117, 118, 120, 121, 127, 128, 129, 130, 131, 133, 139, 140, 141, 150, 154, 155, 157, 159, 160, 161, 162, 166, 167, 187, 196, 198, 199, ...then I tried 200 again and it came in this time on echo 7

The rest of the channels did not show up.

So my question is, do you know why? Is there something I should be doing? Why would a channel not show up and then appear?

Then regarding the whole wiznet thing should I have my pc upstairs and plug the serial connector into my pc? - not sure what I really should be doing regarding that.

Thanks for any and all help.

Sandy

Below is what most have:
Menu===>Installation then 0000 or 0937 or 2668 or 3570 then antenna setup then side arrow to ECHOSTAR 7=119W.then do the same for ECHOSTAR 8,10=110W
..............EchoStar 7=119W
LNB Power................ON
LNB Type..............Standard (Dish Pro change to OCS-DP)
LNB Freq...............11250
22kHz.......................OF F
TP Freq.................12239
search option............ALL
DiSEqC 1.0..............Port 1 (This should match the cable on the switch).
Motor......................OFF
Legacy SW..............NONE

then you need to setup the next sat

EchoStar 8,10=110W
LNB Power...........On
LNB Type............standard (Dish Pro change to OCS-DP)
LNB Freq.............11250
22kHz.................OFf
TP Freq...............12224
DiSEqC 1.0...........Port 2 (this should match the cable on the switch).
Motor.................OFF
Legacy SW..........NONE
Good Luck.

Default You guys are great!!! it works.... so far :)

Hi Putski

Thank you for deleting my ip above - totally went brain dead for a moment.

I checked all the setting - both winfix and the satellites - it seems as though the only difference was DiSEqc1.0 was set to OFF on both echo 7 & 8 - so I turned them onto 1 and 2 respectively.

I even all of a sudden saw HBOW (303) show up.

Wow - this is great.

You have no idea how frustrating this has been for me - trying things (now realizing that I had part of the process-- just not the whole thing) - and now finally understanding just enough to actually ask the right questions.

THANKS A TON!!!

Sandy

Good to hear you are up and running and it was a simple fix. Enjoy your receiver SV has been working very well lately.
