My SV Lan worked fine & then just stopped working. What can I do?
C/P
There have been a few reports of users who had the SV Lan working perfectly and then out of the blue just stopped working.
Akai Japan is aware of the problem and is working to release a new bin file.
However there are many workaround you can use to fix this problem.
1. Be sure you have the correct serial number entered. Zero's and o's look very similar O's are usually wider Zero's are usually taller and skinner "0"
2. Be sure you are not using the same serial number on another receiver. Even after saving double check to see what it actually saved. This is usually for people who have more then one or had a installer set it up for them.
3. If it is still not working change from dhcp to static and set your DNS ip to 8.8.8.8. Click exit and save. Check channel 200 to see if it works. If not reboot your modem and router and try again. You may have to channel up and down back to 200 or 301 are common channels to try.
Step 3 is for those who have been running for some time and just stopped working. If you are having a different problem or never got your unit working from the start please start a new post and someone will help you.
If this helped please let us know.

If there is still no picture be sure channel 101 is working then follow the steps below.
1. You can try the DHCP or Static again. remember just because one worked one time doesn't mean the other way will not work this time.
2. Power off the receiver. internet modem, router for 60 seconds.
3. power on the Modem & Router and wait 60 seconds to power back on the receiver.
4. Go to channel 200 or 300 see if you get picture.
Considering that I have seen at least 15 people with this type of problem I'm still convinced there is something that could fix it as thousands of others are working with no problem.
The problem could due to specific routers, bad load of bin file, Bad bin file downloaded, use of old bin file and not most current or even a duplicate serial number which is unlikely but still possible.
Other options:
1. Try a different router or modem.
2. Have a trusted friend who has a Sonicview test your serial number. Be sure your unit is powered off while he is testing. Have them double check that the serial number was saved properly before they tell you it's working as it could be working with their serial number.
3. When you download a bin file make sure it is the proper size. In some cases you can download the same file as everyone else but if you have a virus on your computer it will corrupt the file you downloaded. Check the size before you download it and be sure it is the exact same size when you load it to the receiver. If you downloaded the file from a different site I would delete it and re-download.
4. Be absolutely sure you have the newest bin file and you load it properly. Do not rush this process.
If all of that was done correctly and you still don't have picture try this.
a. Factory reset 3 times,
b. Load a factory bin file, hard reboot.
c. load a system clean, hard reboot
d. Load the newest bin file, hard reboot.
e. Connect your sv lan power back on the receiver wait 60 seconds for it to connect/update.
f. Enter all of our settings again and scan your channels.
g. Check channel 101 to make sure you scanned properly and that it has picture.
h. Go to channel 200 and see if you have picture.
I would test this on the DHCP settings you had working before & if that didn't work I would try the static dns ip at 8.8.8.8 which ever is working for you.
