Default I-Hub vs SV lan

I read where the I-hub can be converted into an SV lan. Is this conversion sufficient for today's use? I ask as I also see where the SV lan is for sale as a seperate item in itself.
I tried using this internet setup a couple years ago, (it seems) but my satellite web connection made it impossible. I am no longer on Sat internet. (Hughes or Wild Blue)

Do you have the ihub?
What sv receiver?

If you to buy a hub go to coolsatellite.com and buy the wizhub.

I have the premier 360 and two I-hubs. Like I said, I was on satellite internet until I finally found out this won't work there.
I saw your (Ekim's) thread on converting the I-hub, so I thought this would be a fine 1st step.
I would prefer to use what I have if possible, but thanks for the info about the wizhub. If I must, I'll get it there.
Now,,, is the conversion from I-hub to SV lan still usable today, or is the I-hub more obsolete, giving rise to this wizhub? Once I settle this, I can approach the 2nd step. (Being retired, in my 70's, I walk slow)

Your ihub is still usable if you have a ps and no need to convert.I would convert to svlan and get the serial number needed.

Okay,, things are getting easier. Thanks for that.
Now.. Still usable if I have a ps and get the serial. I know about the serial on the hub, if thats what you mean,,, but what is meant by "ps"? This is new to me.

PS is private server, where you donate or pay once a year for their codes to get on their servers.

Okay, understand. This must be why they are offering more..
Info about this will come later after box is loaded with required files and I-hub is converted.
Now working on a holder to hold stb in place on tv while holding hub so as not to cause it's dislodgement.
(yes, each stb must be mounted over tv, so line of sight is maintained.)

Only problem with mounting above the TV is some TV's put off heat and may cause the STB to overheat.

No option, too many electronics around my desk. Have 25" monitor for internet, 38" for games and 50" for tv. Never again will get plasma as it is too hot. Have seen new 72" screen with no heat at all. Thinking about changing to it's but rather costly.
Thaks anyway for input
