Default Question for Sonicview owners

I am sitting here at my pc(credit card in hand) looking at various models of the Sonicview STB. There are many to choose from! I am interested in the 8000HD. Can anyone who owns the Sonicview 8000HD tell me how you like the model and offer me any suggestions regarding purchasing that model or any other Sonicview.

thanks
ashley

I don't know about the 8000HD, but the premier is great, also AKAI Japan has all the PPV open all the time, which is included free for two years when you buy a new SV receiver with wizhub. Oh yes, make sure you get the wizhub with the receiver. And the 8000HD has to have a 8PSK board before you get watch HD, which you have to buy seperately.

The sv8000 is a good receiver. But with iks in and out hd's are hard to keep going by any server public or private. The akai server works great and has been the best thing going IMO.So IMO I would get the premier with wizhub.I would want tv and not worry about hd's.

I'm sorry Ekim but I'm not really understanding the akai server. When I install the premier with wizhub does the akai server run off of that? Can you explain please?

Thank you for all your responses

The AKAI Japan server is what all Sonic View receivers run on with the wizhub. You can use a private server if you want to pay or donate a certain fee to the private server, which also will work with the Premier. Again the AKAI Japan server if free for the first two years with all new receivers.

LOL we should start calling servers (tv servers). So with the wizhub you get the akai tv service/server for 2 yers.

The akai server does sound really great! Sonicview is sounding pretty tempting at this time! I think I'm ready to make a purchase!
Thanks for all the info everyone, you are all a great fountain of information!

This morning has brought more news about the current events with the "Free public" servers.I would only be looking to get on a paid server for the time being.
The SV line works well on most all services and has a good reputation for being a pretty reliable box.

JMO thanks,
Sp0iler

I looked around for the Sonicview 360 Premier and found quite a few at various dealers, however there is no mention of a wizhub. In the contents which you receive with the receiver, there is no wizhub mentionned. I also looked in the receiver accessories section and there are no wizhubs there either. I'm stumped!
