Default LNB Recomendation

I have a SonicView 360 premier. I am attached to a Dish 500.

I have been fussing with this for a while and I have never been able to get all of the channels, even though I am fairly confident I have everything setup right now.

I only have one receiver, What would be the best LNB for me to get for my setup?

I would prefer to not have to deal with power inserters, etc. (assuming I can get all of the channels with a LNB that does not require one).

Also, with your recommendation, please provide what my SV360 settings should be for when I scan.

Thanks!

what kind of lnb are you using now? A dish 500 can use different lnbs
Why dont you post what channels you are missing I am assuming
you mean you cant scan them in and not just scrambled
Please post the settings you have now

Dish Pro Plus LNB using the following settings:

119 (EchoStar 7)
LNB Type: OCS-DP
LNB Freq: 11250
22KHz: Off
LNB Power: On
Transponder: 12224
DISEqC: Port 1

110 (EchoStar 8,X)
LNB Type: OCS-DP
LNB Freq: 11250
22KHz: Off
LNB Power: On
Transponder: 12224
DISEqC: Port 2

Scan of 119 comes back as Failed. Seeing duplicates of many channels, missing many others. The ones i have noticed missing include comedy central, fresh, and some others I can't recall off hand.

Today read about the power requirements of that lnb and was thinking that might be the problem, so plugged my DN receiver into the LNB as well (even though it wont work in there as its setup for Dish 1000 HD turbo dish), just wanted it to help power the LNB. that didn't seem to help.

Saw a good deal for a new DP Quad LNB online that I am considering ordering if I get feedback that it is a good LNB to use (with just one FTA receiver).

The other thing about this current setup is I bought the Dish and LNB and it was a used LNB, so I cant be 100% sure that there isn't some issue with the LNB itself.

I hired a Dish Network installer to point my dish, and it's the same guy that did my DN 1000 HD setup which is working perfectly, so I am confident it is aimed correctly.

When you change tp freq to 12297 does 119 show up in settings? Just want to make sure you are aimed correctly
Yes it could be your lnb You have one cable going straight to rcvr?
I would not recommend a dishpro quad and would go with a dishpro twin

119 shows up and lets me scan, and finds several hundred channels, but then gives a status of failed after the scan. Still lets me save and view what it did find however.

Why the Twin over the Quad? The Quad I found is cheaper and I figured would give me ability to go to 4 receivers down the road if I wanted, but if there is a reason to go with twin over quad, I will certainly go with the best setup.

Ok, Neither am I so hopefully someone else will add their expertise, but from the brief research I did today, it sounds like only the DP Plus LNB's have the power issues.

Thanks!

The easiest way to settle this, (without knowing lnb types) is just to get ahold of a couple older DTV lnb's. The 360 will have no problems with these.

You can get all you wish at some metal recycling center near you for a few pennies.
