Question fine tuning

I've just set-up my new sv360 elite so far it's working. It took me half a day to figure it out. But there's some missing detail in the user's manual,(thank God for forums) for example in the system settings section, there's no mention about the user options. I'd would like to know the meaning of "SID"?
Also there's a old 360 elite instructions in this forum about the "Ihub manual" in June 2009, concerning the ipconfig...is it still valid for today in the network settings? Should I stay DHCP or go static? and change my local IP, subnet, and gateway? Thanks to respond.

SID should be on it sorts the channels so they are not all over the place,Network settings replaced ipconfig in the menu with recent bins.Stay with DHCP it automatically populates your ip with static you have to enter it manually.

No do not use the IP config any longer, it can lock up your receiver.

Thanks guys for the quick response. I've been all the time in DHCP, but eloans1, you don't mean the server IP in the network settings, because everything was working fine untill tonight, I'm getting no signal or scrambles on all channels. Is it possible that my receiver is already lock up? or the server is down.

Only with the back switch, I'll go try again the back switch and turn off the modem.

No that is the latest file, i just checked my SV and it's working on both Akai public and IKS Japan free trial.Does it show connected under server status if not try connecting again by pressing ok.Are you on public server or free trial?

I thought I need for my new elite, one file for the receiver and one file for the hub, as same principle of viewsat. The status show connected under the private server1, it never show connected under the akai public server.
