Default Viewsat pro external hard drive

I've been enjoying my vs pro using an external hard drive ,and having no problem. Yesterday, about 2 hrs before the last ecm , the pro stopped recognizing the external hard drive's E section.I've done factory defaults , reloaded everything , and it still wont recognize it. Did the Western Digtal h/d go south , or did **** demobilize it like they do the remotes sometime. Any input and I'd be much obliged. ...........Wee B

There has been an instance a few ECM's ago where a algorythm was being sent to the EEPROM or TSOP chip causing boxes to freeze and remote control funtions to be lost. If this happens simply shut off your box and remove the cable that goes to your dish(s) and leave it off until after you have installed the latest fix. That pretty well solves that issue, however this latest ECM is not causing said problem so you should be good to go. P.S. I recommend using a self powered external Harddrive it has a lot less issues with drive not being detected or that menu pop up saying detected "bla bla FTS" almost like if you unplugged your drive and stuck it back in. This happens after a keychange is processed through autorolling. They are interconnected hence the degree of difficulty in coding fixes for the "PRO" model series of Viewsats. This is why VS PRO fix is a couple hrs after the other Viewsat models.

Just unhook all the cables and let it sit while you wait for the new fix. Once you are finished loading the new file hook everything back up and you should be up and running again. If that doesn't work unplug the HDD cable for a couple of minutes and plug it back in, that usually solves the problem. I don't think it's your HDD this is quiet common with VS Pro receivers.
