Help!I did a factory default on my extreme.I thought I could watch true FTA,but now I can't get anything,not even the menu.I can't even upgrade with new software using loader.The display stays on 7181.any help would be appreciated and thanks.Also thanks to the coders,they have done a great job so far and I believe they will continue to do so.

dwitnak what is the latest file you downloaded on your receiver? Is the factory default the only thing you did when all this happen or did you try and load something else? Delete loader and download loader again with link below, also I will post another link below it that is a cleaner, do not use that link yet until you try the following, I want you to hook receiver back up to computer, download your loader,factory file, and the latest fix I have also put links to each below. Make sure all are unzipped first before loading. Plug receiver in and make sure switch is off on back, bring up loader and look for factory file on your desktop, download all files to desktop so they are easy to find. After you locate factory file and have it in loader click pc to stb and download should start, make sure you do not interrupt download and that it is completely finished, it will go throught several steps after it says complete, computer always finishes before your receiver does, so that can be a problem a lot of times because it is asumed that because it says download complete that the receiver can be turned off, not the case and it will mess up download and your receiver will not work right. After you have downloaded and finished factory and you know it has finished, cut off switch on back of receiver and shut down loader and then reopen loader again and this time go after your latest fix, do the same thing again that you did for your factory and when that has finished cut off receiver and take it to your tv and hook it back up set up your birds again and rescan your channels. If you are 110/119/91 you know nothing there at this time but maybe 100/500 and so on, if you are telephonica fix, the spanish channels then you know what you need to set up. Thanks SAN.I tried everything,but no luck.I think my extreme isn't booting properly.When I turn it on at the back to start loader the 0000 come up briefly,but then the unit just turns on and displays the channel.I tried using the remote with unit disconnected from satellite and can only change the last set of didgits o-9.

If I install a 30" winegard dish and the proper Lnb for 123 will this same dish be capable of working with the 110, etc when the fix comes thru for DN? I realize the Lnb may have to be changed out but will the dish work the same as the 18" dish I have now?

I dont see why it wouldnt work,,,but like you said you will need a dif lnb, for like sat 110 119 fta

dwitnak when you connect the 9 pin cable from back of receiver to computer and open your loader and find your factory or fix and then click pc to stb, what do you see before you cut on switch on back of receiver? Does the loader start the modem and act like it is starting the download process?

The modem starts and then tries to resend but the stb doesn't seem to receive.I hope it something simple,I'm going to try a differant serial cable.I'll let you know how it turns out thanks.

Keep trying to load factory file if it takes factory file you are in good shape. Also make sure you have the right PORT open on your PC. Here is a program that will show you which port is open and once it shows you which one it select it in the loader and try loading the file. Thanks San and FTA PRO.I haven't tried to fix my extreme for awhile.I just got the urge and figured out that it was the usb-serial port driver.I am running Vista and did some tweeking(com port ) and got my stb to load the file.Thanks to all of you.Now I'll just hang tight and see what happens with n3.

Glad to hear you got it working, all you need now is a new N3 fix which might take a while to be released. But at least you are prepared for it lol
