Default WF Latest Instructions & Troubleshooting

For those having a problem configuring and, assuming you already have your Weather Forecaster, read up.
A chronic problem: people download to comp and to stick and then just take it out. STOP.
Step: After you finished your downloading business. Go to the lower-right corner and look for the “safely remove hardware” icon. Click on it hopefully you know if your stick is B,c, or,,,,g)…anyway locate your stick and click on “Safely remove USB mass storage device – (Drives G or whatever)”. Click on it, it will give you the permission: “This device can now be safely removed from…”
I call that to ask permission to remove your stick.

Factory default your STB before loading files.

Steps:

1. Clean up house: Factory default -will erase all the crap you currently have. You will have to do sat scans at the end. Just erase.
Main menu --> system info ---> Factory default-->ok
2. Find the factory bin VIEWSAT_ULTRA_V0146.PGM and flash it onto your desktop, most likely via winrar. Drag it out of winrar window onto your desktop.
3. Now the factory bin is on your computer desktop, VIEWSAT_ULTRA_V0146.PGM, and connect -via (null modem) serial cable- your computer to the back of your stb. BTW serial cable comes w/ the STB when u buy it. If you comp is newer may not have the serial hub.
4. Bring in your loader 2.0 (loader 1.1 may not work) into your desktop and install it in your programs or accessories.
5. Turn on Loader app and select VIEWSAT_ULTRA_V0146.PGM into your loader and -with your stb turned off from the back button- press on PC to STB, wait one second and turn your stb back on from the back button. After 5-10 minutes you will see the i.n.s.t being displayed or 0000. Your stb will reboot and wait till it finishes.
====================

6. Connect your WF ($110 in fl**bay or g**le) (serial to internet converter) dongle from stb to comp. Connect power to dongle. WF comes w/ a serial cable: WF --->stb. Connect WF to computer via Ethernet cable (RJ45 jack).
7. Flash the 100322 bin, then the 100320:
Steps: With stb on, place stick, main menu ---> system information ---> Receiver upgrade---> USB,find your bin (select the pgm.file), 100322 and press ok with yes selected. You will see i.n.s.t displayed. Don't stop until it ends by itself and reboots.
8. REPEAT 7. WITH 100320 bin.
9. go to Menu  installation --> Serial set up--> Network setup --> network setting-->put your IP.
10. go to Menu  installation --> serial setup --> Network setup --> network setup UPGRADE --> Serial setup...scroll down to NETWORK S/W UPGRADE ---- press ok....wait, takes about a minute or so Start Upgrade...and wait 'til it stops.

The “Network S/W Upgrade” page, at the end, should read as follows:
New Software DX-X00-N APP 2.00,03
Network S/W Version DX-X00-N APP 2.00,03
Start upgrade (DON’T start anything, You already did)

11. Turn off from the back button and reboot.
12. Set up your antenna and autoscan each sat alone.
