Kenyan man admits to killing 17 women, drinking their blood
Kenyan police are searching for a woman who
is alleged to have encouraged a self-professed serial killer to murder woman as part of a cult ritual.
"My target was to kill 100 women. I managed 17 and there were 83 to go,"
Philip Onyancha, 32, told the English-language Daily Nation newspaper in Kenya on Wednesday after his arrest on Sunday.
He said he had been recruited into a cult by one of his teachers in 1996. He said to get to the next level in the cult, he had to kill.
"Spirits would send me to go and kill," he said.
The newspaper reports he was "emotionless" as he explained he only killed women because "they are the easiest victims."
He also said he felt a "powerful and unstoppable" urge to kill and got pleasure from strangling the women and then drinking their blood.
Onyancha took police and the media to a water and sewer company where a skeleton was found, wearing a red pullover and black skirt. He also took them to a home where he had worked as a security guard three years ago and police found remains in the sewer.
Onyancha's wife, Lillian Nyaboke, told the newspaper they had been married for four years and she noticed her husband's personality changed about a year ago.
"I thought he had another wife and even asked him to let me go if this was the case," she said, adding she learned of his crimes after reading about them in the newspaper.
The Daily Nation reported the teacher they want to speak to has since moved on to another school and they said they have lost track of her.
